The Hollywood Reporter says that we’re getting another David O. Russell movie in Massachusetts. Russell, who filmed “The Fighter” and “American Hustle” around Boston, is set to direct “Joy,” a film about Joy Mangano, the woman who invented the Miracle Mop. Mangano is set to be played by Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook” star, Jennifer Lawrence. THR said in November, “Active negotiations are still afoot, and all parties say a deal for Lawrence is expected to close. Russell, who will shoot the film in Boston, already has hired his same crew from ‘Hustle.’ ” The Massachusetts Film Office has not commented about the project, but THR says filming would begin in February. We’re hoping for Lawrence’s sake that most of the scenes are indoors.
