Just when it looked like “A Gronking to Remember” might become a major bestseller — OK, maybe not a major bestseller — the erotic novella about Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has suddenly been removed by Amazon. We’re told the online retailer pulled the book because someone — perhaps the Patriots or the National Football League — objected to the book jacket, specifically the photo of Gronkowski that features the “MHK” patch on his uniform. (The team began wearing the patch in 2011 after the death Myra Kraft , wife of Patriots owner Robert Kraft.) In an e-mail, author Lacey Noonan told us she hadn’t anticipated any problem with the Gronk picture. “I didn’t understand at the outset that Robert Kraft wouldn’t want Myra Kraft and her philanthropical works associated with this,” Noonan said in the e-mail. “Total newbie ignorance on my part. I believe — and hope — that’s the only problem anyone has with the book since it is such obvious satire and parody.” An NFL source said Thursday that the league keeps tight control over the use of uniforms and logos, and no doubt would object to the use of the Patriots uniform (and “MHK” patch) without permission. “A Gronking to Remember” is the story of a housewife who makes it her mission to sack the 6-foot-6-inch All-Pro pass-catcher. (And by sack we don’t mean tackle.) We’re told Gronkowski is aware of the book, but hasn’t read it. Noonan (not her real name) has written several erotic novels, or parodies of the genre, including “I Don’t Care If My Best Friend’s Mom Is a Sasquatch, She’s Hot and I’m Taking a Shower With Her” and “Shipwrecked on the Island of the She-Gods: A South Pacific Trans Sex Adventure.”
