Congrats to the MIT Sloan School of Management professor for receiving a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) award from the queen. The honor is in recognition of Murray’s services to the United Kingdom in entrepreneurship and innovation. According to her bio on the MIT website, Murray, the associate dean of innovation at the Sloan School, is an “expert on the transformation of investments in scientific and technical innovation into entrepreneurship that drives jobs, wealth creation, and regional prosperity.” She’s in excellent, if somewhat eclectic company: “Dynasty” star Joan Collins, “The English Patient” actress Kristin Scott Thomas, and poet Carol Ann Duffy are among the other Brits on the list.
