The Clark Art Institute in Williamstown is getting a $15 million gift from Berkshire County and Cambridge residents Felda and Dena Hardymon. Felda Hardymon is a partner at the venture capital firm Bessemer in Cambridge and a professor at Harvard Business School. Dena Hardymon has been an honorary trustee for the Clark since 2013. “They began as visitors more than 20 years ago,” Clark communications director Victoria Saltzman said, adding that the couple has taken a special interest in the institute’s library collection.

The money will fund institute activities and the campus expansion program. Saltzman said the gift is one of the largest in the Clark Art Institute’s history. In 2007, the Manton Foundation gave it $50 million and 300 works of art.
