Ben Bradlee gives Ted Williams archive to Sports Museum

Ben Bradlee Jr., who spent the better part of a decade researching and writing “The Kid: The Immortal Life of Ted Williams,” has donated the material he assembled while writing the biography to The Sports Museum. Packed in dozens of boxes, the archive includes, among many other things, transcripts and tapes of interviews Bradlee did with the likes of Roger
Angell
, Yogi Berra, President George H.W. Bush, Dom DiMaggio, Bobby
Doerr
, John Glenn, Willie Mays, Buck O’Neil, and Jimmy Piersall. (Located at TD Garden, the nonprofit museum showcases the sports history of New England.) “The Kid,” which traces the complicated life and remarkable career of one of baseball’s greatest hitters, has been optioned by Hollywood producers who hope to turn it into a TV miniseries.
