Jennifer Coolidge signs up for Nora Theatre Company show

Mark Sagliocco

Some extra star wattage will accompany the Nora Theatre Company's summer show. Jennifer Coolidge,
familiar from the "American Pie" franchise and Christopher Guest late-period gems including "Best in Show" and "For Your Consideration," will star in the Nora's "Saving Kitty" at Central Square Theater beginning July 9, the theater announced Tuesday. Coolidge has been busy most recently on
"2 Broke Girls" as the latest in an esteemed heritage of odd neighbors. The Norwell native and Emerson alum will be making her Boston stage debut. The Marisa Smith play made its world premiere at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater in 2012. Nora artistic director Lee Mikeska Gardner will direct the show, which runs for four weeks through the heat (we hope?) of summer.
