Julian Edelman leads the Pops at Symphony Hall

Kayana Szymczak for The Boston Globe

Patriots receiver Julian Edelman is everywhere this offseason. Wednesday it was Symphony Hall, where the Super Bowl champ took the baton from conductor Keith Lockhart to lead the Boston Pops in a performance of “The Stars and Stripes Forever” at the orchestra’s annual Presidents at Pops fund-raiser. The evening’s entertainment also included comedian John Hodgman, who had a humorous take on Benjamin Britten’s “The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra,” Tony-nominated Broadway performer Michael Cavanaugh, who performed songs by Paul Simon, Neil Diamond, and James Taylor, and the Pops themselves, whose program included a new orchestral arrangement of Meghan Trainor’s hit “All About That Bass.”
