Secretary of State John Kerry said Tuesday in a tweet that he was “feeling good a week after surgery” for a broken leg. The tweet, which was accompanied by a photo of Kerry on the phone in a room at Massachusetts General Hospital with an official-looking folder in his lap, also said he had had “Good chats today” with Ambassador Susan Rice and the State Department’s senior team. “The work continues,” the tweet said. Kerry underwent four hours of surgery last Tuesday at Massachusetts General Hospital after fracturing his femur. Kerry had arrived in Boston the day before following a cycling accident in France. The accident came at a crucial time, during nuclear disarmament negotiations with Iran. On Monday, State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke said that Kerry was concentrating on his physical therapy and was “in good spirits and progressing well” but at the same time “remains engaged with the work of the department.”
