There were a few familiar faces at the opening Monday of Boston Children’s Hospital’s new food court, an $11 million reimagining of a cafeteria that includes a culinary demonstration station called Chef’s Playground. Celebrity chefs at Monday’s ribbon-cutting included Brendan Pelley, from Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” Maneet Chauhan of “Chopped,” and Taniya Nayak of “Restaurant Impossible.” In the coming months, the Chef’s Playground will host a variety of chefs, some known and some not, cooking meals for hospital patrons. (Rachel Klein of Liquid Art House and Tiffani Faison of Sweet Cheeks Q are just a few who will be participating.) In addition, the Chef’s Playground will offer a Parent’s Night Out, an opportunity for local families with children being treated in the hospital to have a five-course meal cooked by the guest chefs.
