Singer Carly Simon got a hefty advance a while back to write her autobiography, but when no book materialized we figured she abandoned the project. Apparently not. The 70-year-old Simon, who lives on Martha’s Vineyard, will release her memoir, “Boys in the Trees,” in November, published by Flatiron Books. The book is expected to chronicle her childhood — her father was Richard L. Simon, cofounder of the venerable publishing house Simon & Schuster — and her romances with, among others, Cat Stevens, Kris Kristofferson, Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, and Mick Jagger — and, of course, her marriage to James Taylor, with whom she had two talented children, Ben and Sally Taylor.
