A trailer has surfaced for “Spotlight,” the Tom McCarthy film about The Boston Globe’s investigation of the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal. The movie will premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September.

The dramatic trailer features an all-star cast including Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, and Rachel McAdams, who play Spotlight reporters Walter Robinson, Mike Rezendes, and Sacha Pfeiffer. There’s plenty of Boston locations in the clips, including scenes shot at the Globe last year.

Other cast members include Massachusetts-bred actor John Slattery, who plays Ben Bradlee Jr., and Liev Schreiber of “Ray Donovan,” who appears to do a spot-on portrayal of former Globe editor Marty Baron, who’s now at The Washington Post. The film has its official release Nov. 6.
