Bill Murray’s big scoop on Martha’s Vineyard

handout

You never know who you’ll run into on Martha’s Vineyard in the summer. Some Beacon Academy kids bumped into Bill Murray (far right) at Island Cove Adventures in Vineyard Haven this week. The “St. Vincent” actor, who’s something of a regular on The Rock, gave the students impromptu advice on how to have a great time on the Vineyard. His recommendations? Go swimming every day and eat lots of ice cream. (The kids seemed to be on board with both.) Beacon Academy is a Boston-based program designed to prepare smart, motivated city children for high school. Beacon’s associate head of school, Mervan F. Osborne (near right), accompanied the group. After chatting with Murray, the kids met with Harvard Business School prof Rosabeth Moss Kanter, who talked about education and writing. Then it was time for a swim.
