The inaugural GlobeDocs Film Festival, which runs during HUBWeek, released its lineup Wednesday. The 12 films chosen for the fest — which runs from Oct. 7 to 11 — include Abigail Disney’s directorial debut, “The Armor of Light”; Douglas Tirola’s “Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon”; and the closing film, “Fastball,” a baseball doc by Jonathan Hock. Also in HUBWeek news, comedian and actress Whitney Cummings and MIT professors Sherry Turkle and Andrew McAfee have joined the lineup of the Fenway Forum on Oct. 4. The discussion at the ballpark with Harvard professor Michael Sandel will also feature Arianna Huffington, Yo-Yo Ma, and “Veep” writer (and former Harvard Lampoon editor) Alexis Wilkinson. . . . The Boston Jewish Film Festival announced a few of its big films this week. The opener for the festival, which runs Nov. 4 to 16, will be “Apples From the Desert,” the closer is “Once in a Lifetime,” and the spotlight film is the doc “Very Semi-Serious,” about New Yorker cartoonists, with New Yorker cartoon editor Robert Mankoff in attendance.
