Dropkick Murphys set to play the closing Beachcomber

The Beachcomber, the club across from Wollaston Beach in Quincy that’s played host to the likes of Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Tiny Tim, is closing. And it’s going out with a bang. We’re told the Dropkick Murphys will take the stage Saturday night at the venue owned for the past half-century by the McGettrick family. The Beachcomber, which is scheduled to be demolished and replaced by a restaurant, is the latest landmark club to close. T.T. the Bear’s was recently shuttered and Johnny D’s is closing in 2016.
