Boston Music Awards has new owner

The Boston Music Awards has new owners, who are promising to breathe new life into the annual event honoring local musicians. Jake Brennan and Paul Armstrong have taken over the BMA brand from Chip Rives, and this year’s shindig will span two nights, Dec. 9 and 10, and include a performance by Evan Dando of the Lemonheads. The first of the two-night stand at the Sinclair will feature several of this year’s nominees, including Dirty Bangs, Dutch Rebelle, Louie Bello, Nemes, Oh Malô, Party Bois, Radclyffe Hall, Ruby Rose Fox, Soul-le-lu-jah, Tigerman WOAH, Vundabar, Will Dailey, Worshipper, and DJ Frank White.
