MIT professor emerita Joan Jonas, who represented the United States at the Venice Biennale, has been named the next visual arts mentor for the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative. The list of all-star mentors was announced over the weekend. The other five arts gurus are writer Mia Couto, composer Philip Glass, "Gravity" director Alfonso Cuarón, playwright-actor-director Robert Lepage, and dancer-chorographer Ohad Naharin. The mentors will now search for their proteges, whom they'll work with next year.
