The force (and Santa) was with the Boston Pops

It's not what it looks like. Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart is not battling Santa Claus in this photograph. Rather, he's simply conducting the score to "Star Wars" using a light saber that was given to him by Santa, who made an appearance during the Pops performance at Symphony Hall on Friday. The "Star Wars" score was written by Boston Pops laureate conductor John Williams. The composer was with Steven Spielberg at the premiere of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in Hollywood last week.
