Lucy Liu is the 2016 Harvard University Artist of the Year. The Harvard Foundation announced the honor Thursday afternoon; Liu (inset) will be in town to pick up the award at the Cultural Rhythms Festival at Sanders Theatre on Feb. 20. Liu — whose resume includes the Sherlock Holmes series “Elementary” (she plays Joan Watson), “Charlie’s Angels,” and “Kung Fu Panda 3” — is a UNICEF Ambassador and has been a spokeswoman for the Human Rights Campaign. Last year’s Artist of the Year was Eva Longoria. Other former nominees include Matt Damon, Halle Berry, and Denzel Washington.
