Keith Olbermann to sell Trump Palace apartment
Political and sports commentator Keith Olbermann is one step closer to separating himself from Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. According to the Wall Street Journal, Olbermann has listed the apartment he owns in Trump Palace in New York City for $3.9 million. Olbermann, who worked at WCVB-TV in Boston in 1984, bought the place for $4.2 million in 2007.
Olbermann — known for his liberal political views — wrote in an op-ed in The Washington Post in March saying that he could no longer live in a Trump building. “Okay, Donnie, you win. I’m moving out. Not moving out of the country — not yet anyway. I’m merely moving out of one of New York’s many buildings slathered in equal portions with gratuitous gold and the name ‘Trump.’ . . . I’m getting out because of the degree to which the very name ‘Trump’ has degraded the public discourse and the nation itself. I can’t hear, or see, or say that name any longer without spitting. Frankly, I’m running out of Trump spit.”
Trump responded in the story, saying, via e-mail, that “When people find out he is leaving Trump Palace, prices will probably go up.”
