RFK Children’s Action Corps honors advocates for youth

More than 350 guests attended Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps’s annual Embracing the Legacy event on Friday, helping event co-chair US Representative Joe Kennedy III honor the legacy of his late grandfather and recognize advocates for vulnerable children. The event, held at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum and emceed by former WCVB anchor Susan Wornick, raised money for the Action Corps’ child welfare and juvenile justice programs. Those honored for their commitment to children’s advocacy were: the Dropkick Murphys, frontman Ken Casey accepted on the band’s behalf; Thaddeus Miles, director of community services for MassHousing; Joe Corcoran, founder of the Corcoran Jennison Companies and the American City Coalition; and Francine Sherman, professor and founder of Boston College Law School’s Juvenile Rights Advocacy Program.
