Though she doesn't officially start work until July, new Wellesley College president Paula Johnson
was welcomed by her fellow female college presidents at an event this week hosted by The Partnership's Carol Fulp and Weber Shandwick's Micho Spring. A Harvard Medical School professor before being named Wellesley's new president — the school's first African-American president, by the way — Johnson was celebrated at a shindig attended by Worcester Polytechnic Institute president Laurie Leshin, Suffolk University president Margaret McKenna, Bentley's president Gloria Larson, Wentworth Institute of Technology president Zorica Pantic, and Babson's Kerry Healey. Also there were Boston's chief of economic development John Barros, the Kennedy School's Heather Campion, and MassIgnite's Therese Murray. . . . Meanwhile, Boston Arts Academy
alum Kirven Douthit-Boyd, who's gone on to dance with Alvin Ailey, was honored with the school's Apollo Award at a celebration at the MFA.
