Patriots running back Dion Lewis emcees fitness fund-raiser
The 90-degree heat didn’t deter the crowd of over 250 who turned out for the second annual Bootys for the Battle benefit at the Seaport Hotel & World Trade Center on Saturday. Attendees danced, jumped, and lunged their way to raising thousands for METAvivor, a metastatic breast cancer awareness, research, and support organization. The fund-raising event was led by fitness guru and designer Kelly Brabants; her fashion and fitness brand Booty by Brabants sponsored the benefit. A cocktail reception, raffles, a trunk show, and a live auction emceed by Patriots running back Dion Lewis, with music from JAM’N 94.5’s DJ Pup Dawg, followed Brabants’s class. Governor Charlie Baker was among those in attendance, as was Barbara Bigelow of Easton, who is fighting her own battle against stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and inspired Brabants (who is best friends with Bigelow’s daughter) to organize the event.
