Pam Grier, the iconic actress who rose to fame in the 1970s in films like “Coffy” and “Foxy Brown,” and rapper Lana Moorer, better known as MC Lyte, are among those who will receive the W.E.B. Du Bois Medal at Harvard University next month. The other recipients include opera soprano Jessye Norman; Xerox Corp. chairman and CEO Ursula M. Burns; Harvard University senior admissions officer David L. Evans; and the 1966 Texas Western Miners, the first basketball team with an all-black starting lineup to win an NCAA national championship (players David Lattin and Willie Worsley will represent the team), and David Simon, creator of the HBO series “The Wire.” The recipients will be honored at the fourth annual Hutchins Center Honors, presented by the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard on Oct. 6.
