The New England College of Optometry held its Profiles in Vision Gala on Oct. 26 at the InterContinental Boston. Among the 250 guests who attended the celebration were John Connors of Boathouse Inc.; New England College of Optometry president Clifford Scott; Jim Hunt, president and CEO of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers; and Josh Kraft of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. The honoree of the evening was Janet LaBreck, commissioner of Rehabilitation Services Administration for the US Department of Education. Another highlight from the event was the guest speaker, author Ben Mezrich, who talked about his latest books. Proceeds from the gala will benefit New England College of Optometry’s patient-care low-vision rehabilitation programs and other outreach services.
