Frankie Shaw is filming a Showtime comedy pilot in South Boston, and here’s what we know thus far. The yet-to-be-titled project is semi-autobiographical and based on Shaw’s Sundance Film Festival Jury Award-winning short film “SMILF.” Rosie O’Donnell, Ismael Cruz Cordova, and Samara Weaving will be appearing in the pilot, and the cast also includes Alex Brightman, Kyle Vincent Terry, and Graham Rogers. We’ve been told the story is set in Boston and focuses on a single mother in her 20s “whose desires for relationships, sex, and a career collide with the realities of young, single motherhood.” Shaw is writing, producing, and directing. . . . and she’s also starring in the lead role. Filming is scheduled to take place at Joseph’s, an Italian deli and bakery on K Street, on Nov. 10, and parking restrictions will be in effect in certain areas.
