Meryl Streep’s remarks about Donald Trump at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards has whipped everyone, including the president-elect himself, into a frenzy on social media. But it was the actress’s comments about mixed martial arts that irrittated UFC boss Dana White. Discussing diversity, the Oscar-winning actress said: “Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners and if we kick them all out you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.” In response, White, a onetime Bostonian, took a swipe at Streep in an interview with TMZ, saying “[Mixed martial arts] is not going to be everybody’s thing, and the last thing I expect is an uppity, 80-year-old lady to be in our demographic and love mixed martial arts.” It’s no coincidence that White is a yuge Trump supporter who spoke at the Republican National Convention. And for the record, Streep is only 67.
