The Strand Theatre in Dorchester was packed Thursday night for “Together We Rise: A Counter-Inaugural Celebration of Resistance.” The evening was put together by a collective of artists including Mindy Fried, of JP Porchfest, poet and former 826 Boston executive director Daniel Johnson, writer Lauren Friel, comedian and storyteller Wes Hazard, writer Jennifer De Leon, and musician Ashleigh Gordon. Performers included Larry Watson, comedian Bethany Van Delft, and spoken word artist Ashley Rose Salomon, who hosted the event.

The night — which included a “mobilization fair” where locals could learn about social justice organizations — started with a procession from Mary Hannon Park to the Strand.
