Edward Sorel, the celebrated cartoonist-illustrator-author whose handiwork has graced the covers of countless magazines, including The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Harper’s, and Vanity Fair, was at BU this weekend for the opening of a retrospective of his work. Among the fans and friends at the event at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center was the great satirist-cartoonist Jules Feiffer, who had some nice things to say about Sorel. . . . With shooting set to begin soon on “Daddy’s Home 2,” Will Ferrell is out and about. The former “SNL” star, who’s reprising his “Daddy’s Home” role in the sequel, lunched at jm Curley the other day with his buddy screenwriter Chris Henchy. Henchy and Ferrell, co-creators of the Funny or Die website, had burgers.
