Hundreds of guests celebrated three decades of wish granting by Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island on Saturday evening, enjoying cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions, and an awards presentation at the InterContinental Hotel Boston. The evening, which was emceed by former WCVB anchor Liz Brunner, included a tribute to the Red Sox, a longtime partner that has granted approximately 200 wishes for kids across the country. Red Sox president Sam Kennedy and chairman Tom Werner accepted the award. Also in attendance was longtime Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield, an honorary chairman of the Red Sox Foundation, and Wally the Green Monster was there to pose for photos with wish recipients from the last 30 years.
