Sunday’s “60 Minutes” will feature Jonathan Starr, a former hedge fund manager from Massachusetts who founded a high school in one of the poorest places in the world. Anderson Cooper reports from Africa on how students from the Somaliland school are winning academic scholarships to America’s most elite universities. Abdisamad Adan (left) attends Harvard and Mubarik Mohamoud is enrolled at MIT. Both students graduated from the Abaarso School of Science and Technology, founded in Somaliland by Starr, who lives in Worcester. The stories of the students and Starr’s earlier battle to build the school will be part of the “60 Minutes” package.
