For a guy who invented the Internet, you don’t hear much from Al Gore anymore.
But that’s about to change. The former vice president walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival Monday, where he’s screening the sequel to the Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth.”
According to press reports from Cannes, the new movie, called “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power,” is more hopeful than the original film, which painted a fairly terrifying picture of the effects of climate change.
The 69-year-old Gore is at the film festival with his girlfriend, a woman named Elizabeth Keadle, about whom not too much is known except that she’s independently wealthy and was formerly married to biotech entrepreneur Lyle Turner, founder and CEO of Invitrogen Corp., which developed genetic-research kits.
Gore, who split with his wife Tipper in 2010, has been with Keadle since at least 2012.
