BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons, violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, and composer John Williams at Tanglewood.

In preparation for its world premiere performance of composer John Williams’s “Markings” at Tanglewood this weekend, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and conductor Andris Nelsons (left) rehearsed the piece with violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter Wednesday. The 85-year-old Williams, who wrote the piece specially for Mutter, was also there.
