A cast is coming together for the sequel to “The Equalizer,” which, like the first movie, will be directed by Antoine Fuqua and made in Massachusetts. The Hollywood Reporter posted news Monday that Pedro Pascal, of “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” “Narcos,” and “Game of Thrones,” will star with Denzel Washington in the film, which starts production this fall.
Pascal (inset) happened to tweet a shoutout to Boston this weekend.
“Love you #Boston,” he wrote, linking to a Vox story with the headline, “Anti-racism protesters totally eclipsed Boston’s right-wing Free Speech rally.”
The first “Equalizer” film, based on the 1980s TV show, was filmed in East Boston, Haverhill, and other spots around the state. It was released in 2014, and made more than $100 million at the domestic box office.
