Classic rockers gather for a good cause on the Cape

It was a classic rock reunion at the first Hope Music Festival, a benefit for Cape Cod Healthcare at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis. Acts included Elliot Easton of the Cars, Rick Derringer, Grand Funk Railroad’s Mark Farner, Shorty Billups, former Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau, and bluesman James Montgomery. Cape Cod Healthcare CEO Mike Lauf was in the crowd, as were Cape DA Michael O’Keefe, CBS Radio’s Mark Hannon, Tivoli Audio’s Tom DeVesto, Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Chairman Cedric Cromwell, comedian Steve Sweeney, UMass president Marty Meehan, and Willowbend owner David Southworth.
