Weeks after Amy Schumer filmed the comedy “I Feel Pretty” in the South End, the neighborhood hosted another big picture: director Antoine Fuqua’s “Equalizer 2.”
The film is a sequel to 2014’s “The Equalizer,” which starred Denzel Washington, and was also shot in Massachusetts (locations for the first film included Haverhill and Chelsea).
Joining Washington for the next installment of the franchise, which is based on the 1980s television show, is Pedro Pascal, known for his portrayal of Oberyn Martell on “Game of Thrones” and, most recently, as Whiskey in “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.”
Some local businesses welcomed the Hollywood visitors this week. Darryl’s Corner Bar & Kitchen sent an e-mail telling regulars to reserve a table Wednesday to “enjoy the view.” “You never know WHO you might see,” the e-mail said, “and who knows . . . maybe you will get an opportunity to be a part of the film!”
