While Steven Tyler recuperates, Joe Perry joins Foo Fighters (for two songs)

We’re told that Steven Tyler, who suffered a medical emergency in South America a few weeks ago and then raced home to have a procedure performed, will be back in the saddle and ready to rock very soon.

While his Aerosmith bandmates wait for the flamboyant frontman to get well, at least one of them is staying busy. Tyler’s Toxic Twin Joe Perry joined the Foo Fighters on stage at the Cal Jam festival in San Bernardino, Calif., over the weekend

At the end of the daylong fest, which featured Queens of the Stone Age, Cage the Elephant, Babes in Toyland, Japandroids, and Wolf Alice, Perry joined the Foos for a cover of Aerosmith’s “Draw the Line” and then stayed on stage for the Beatles classic “Come Together,” which Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher sang.
