Chaz Niell & David Born/David Ortiz Children’s Fund
Old friend Johnny Damon was among the guests at the annual David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic, held over the weekend at Casa de Campo in La Romana, Dominican Republic. More than 400 people attended the fund-raiser, which tallied $1.2 million for the David Ortiz Children’s Fund’s mission of providing life-saving surgeries and care for kids with congenital heart defects in the D.R. and around New England.
In addition to Damon, guests included Papi’s former teammates Hanley Ramirez, Tim Wakefield, Mike Napoli, Robbie Ross, and Chris Young; current MLB stars Adam Jones, Adrian Beltre, Edwin Encarnacion, and Chris Archer; Hall of Famers Barry Larkin and Jim Rice; actor Richard Lawson and his wife, Tina Knowles — a.k.a mom of Beyoncé and Solange — Anthony Mackie, Chris Tucker, and Glynn Turman.
