Ah, yes, a bundle of joy just in time for the holidays.
Mindy Kaling, the Cambridge native and star of “The Mindy Project,” has welcomed her first child — a girl — in Los Angeles. The baby, named Katherine Swati Kaling, arrived a few days ago, according to People, which has seen the birth certificate. The middle name honors Kaling’s late mother, who died of cancer in 2012.
Kaling, who’s never ID’d the baby’s father, has said she’s very much looking forward to becoming a mom.
“One of the nice things about becoming a parent is that I’ll be able to openly criticize other parenting because I will have a child,” the 38-year-old Buckingham Browne & Nichols alum told a TV interviewer last summer.
