Ayla Brown will be in Seoul to belt out the anthem

Ayla Brown, the daughter of former Massachusetts Senator (and current US ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa) Scott Brown, is headed to the Winter Olympics in Seoul, but she won’t be competing. Brown, who’s referred to in the press release we received as “the epitome of an all-American sweetheart,” will be singing the national anthem — something she’s done many times before. Indeed, the onetime “American Idol” contestant is touted by her publicist as the “go-to artist for singing the national anthem at sporting events,” including a performance on “Monday Night Football,” at the Orange Bowl, and two years as the official anthem singer for the Philadelphia 76ers. Brown, a BC grad, will be singing the anthem before the US/Canada women’s hockey game Feb. 15, and before the US/Slovakia men’s game the next day.
