A Cambridge gallery is showing artwork by guards who work at the Museum of Fine Arts
Gallery 263 in Cambridge hosted an opening party Thursday night for “Opus Six: Artist/Guards of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.”
The show features works by Jeff Ellse, Stephen Holness, Gary McManus, Anthony Pagliuca, John Storrow, and Matthew Zappala, all of whom have protected the art at the MFA. The gallery says that this is the fifth year that this group of guards has shown work together.
This year, the exhibition also honors Zlatko Fedotov, an artist and MFA guard who died of cancer. The show includes one of his paintings and a portrait of him by McManus.
Fedotov worked at the MFA for 19 years and was an immigrant and refugee from Bosnia. One of the special guests at the reception was his daughter, Nina.
