Clifford the Big Red Dog, the fictional canine created by the late Norman Bridwell, was hard to miss at the opening of a new exhibit at Logan Airport devoted to some of the children’s lit authors and illustrators who call the Commonwealth home.

Massachusetts first lady Lauren Baker, joined by Susie Rich (“Too Much Hopscotch”), Anna Alter (“Sprout Street Neighbors”), Jeff Kinney (“Diary of a Wimpy Kid”) and author/illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka (“Lunch Lady”), as well as the Globe’s own Linda Pizzuti Henry, and Massport officials, celebrated the opening of “Massachusetts: Where Imagination Comes to Life,” at Terminal C.

The exhibit was inspired by a smart Globe Magazine story by James Sullivan pointing out that the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts has become kids lit central.
