Leave it to Howie Carr to get to the truth — or at least the truth according to Howie Carr.

The right-wing radio host and Boston Herald columnist has written a book called “What Really Happened: How Donald J. Trump Saved America From Hillary Clinton.”

According to Carr’s website — scroll down past the ad for the hair restoration center — the book is the “inside, no-holds-barred story of the 2016 presidential election as told by a veteran journalist who was in the middle of it from day one.”

By “in the middle of,” we think Carr means “in the pocket of,” but never mind. It’s true that Carr has unique access to the president because he and his wife, Kathy, are members of the Mar-a-Lago Club, Trump’s posh Palm Beach, Fla., retreat, and surely club members get something for that $200,000 initiation fee, right?

Carr’s website notes that he was an early supporter of Trump and flew on Trump One during the campaign. Howie also moderated some of Trump’s town-hall-style meetings, introduced the candidate at rallies, and has spent time with POTUS in Palm Beach. The title of Carr’s book is a riff on Hillary Clinton’s presidential autopsy, “What Happened.”

“From Very Fake News to Lyin’ Ted to Crooked Hillary, ‘What Really Happened’ will tell you just that — what really happened!” crows Carr’s website.

All that for just $19.99? Amazing. The book will be available in March.
