Organizers of Thursday’s Dana-Farber fundraiser would say only that a “mystery guest” who’s a “famous sports figure” would be joining Governor Charlie Baker and other boldfacers in the barber’s chair.
Bobby Orr? Big Papi? Kyrie Irving? Nope.
None other than Patriots QB Tom Brady showed up at Granite Telecommunications’s offices in Quincy to get a fresh cut benefiting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Granite had pledged $5 million to Dana-Farber if 1,000 others agreed to shave their heads or beards, and Brady, the five-time Super Bowl champ who usually entrusts his ’do to Newbury Street stylist Pini Swissa, said sure.
Since 2014, Granite has contributed $14.7 million to Dana-Farber through its annual Saving by Shaving event, and nearly $18 million in aggregate through the company’s many fundraisers.

Meanwhile, we’ll be seeing more of Brady soon. We’re told the QB will be on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Monday. What are the chances the host will ask Brady about Bill Belichick’s decision to sit Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl or, better yet, whether he thinks his golfing buddy President Trump colluded with the Russians.
