First, he was on “Shark Tank.” Now, he’ll be on “Shark Week.”
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will make an appearance on the Discovery Channel’s annual “Shark Week” this summer. The program — which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this season — will feature Gronkowski in an episode titled “Monster Tag” that’s scheduled to air on Monday, July 23, at 8 p.m.
According to Discovery, Gronkowski will be joined by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. The trio will learn about the shark’s top predators and the efforts to try and save the fish’s dwindling population.
Other athletes who will be a part of this year’s “Shark Week” include UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey and retired NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal. Food Network host Guy Fieri, and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will also appear in episodes.
Gronkowski, Rodgers, and Vonn each teased their episode on social media.
“No one ever said tagging a massive Tiger Shark would be easy,” Gronkowski wrote in a Twitter photo caption. “Watch us both WIN on #SharkWeek, starting July 22 on Discovery. #TigerGronk #SaveSharks.”
