Pittsfield native Elizabeth Banks officially has her angels — er, Angels.

Banks will direct an upcoming “Charlie’s Angels” reboot for Sony, with Kristen Stewart (“Twilight”), Naomi Scott (“Power Rangers,” which also featured Banks), and Ella Balinska (“Midsomer Murders”) playing the three Angels, according to Variety.

The film reportedly will differ from the 1970s TV show and the 2001 film, in which the three Angels reported to the mysterious Charles “Charlie” Townsend. In the upcoming film, the Townsend Agency has “gone global,” with highly trained teams of agents working worldwide, according to Variety.

Beyond directing and producing the film, Banks will also play Bosley, a fellow employee of the Townsend Agency who is often used as comic relief. In the 1970s TV series, David Doyle played Bosley, while in the 2001 film, Bill Murray did.

“ ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ for me, is one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman since its debut in the ’70s,” Banks told Variety. “This film honors the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels. I couldn’t be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world.”

Originally scheduled to hit theaters on June 7, 2019, “Charlie’s Angels” will now be released on Sept. 27, 2019.
