Catriona Gray, a 24-year-old from the Philippines, took home the Miss Universe 2018 crown on Sunday.

Beyond competing in pageants, Gray is also a singer, one who learned about perfecting her craft with the help of Berklee College of Music in Boston.

According to Debbie Cavalier, Berklee’s senior vice president of online learning and continuing education, Gray enrolled in a certificate program through Berklee Online and studied “music theory, ear training, harmony, and other courses.”

In a Facebook post on Monday, Gray said that her mother had imagined her winning the Miss Universe crown.

“When I was 13, my mum told me ‘Honey, I dreamt of you winning Miss Universe in a red dress.'” Gray wrote. “At that time I thought nothing of it, and today my mother’s dream came true.”
