Uma Thurman, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, S. Epatha Merkerson, Mary Steenburgen, Jane Kaczmarek, and Omar Metwally are among the stars scheduled to appear onstage at Williamstown Theatre Festival this summer.

Thurman (right) — who made her Broadway debut in 2017 in a new play, “The Parisian Woman’’ — will tackle a classic at Williamstown: Henrik Ibsen’s “Ghosts,’’ July 31-Aug. 18, directed by Carey Perloff.

Merkerson, a stage veteran best-known for her work on TV’s “Law & Order,’’ will star in Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun’’ June 25-July 13, directed by Robert O’Hara. This year marks the 60th anniversary of “Raisin’s’’ history-making premiere, when Hansberry became the first African-American woman to have a play produced on Broadway.
