Needham native Aly Raisman has partnered with YORK Athletics to help kick off the company’s new “Worth the Fight” campaign. The footwear brand announced the news last week.
According to YORK, the campaign aims to encourage peolple to fight for their best life, with the help of 16 ambassadors from a variety of professions.
“The ‘Worth the Fight’ campaign is about staying focused on priorities and choosing worthwhile battles,” YORK Athletics co-founder and CEO Mark McGarry said in a statement. “We are committed to motivating and celebrating the everyday fighter on their journeys to carve out their own path in life. To us, that is worth the fight.”
An Olympic gymnast, Raisman has been an outspoken advocate for sexual-assault survivors in recent years. She testified against now convicted serial sex offender Larry Nassar, who worked as a doctor for the national gymnastics team.
“I am trying to fight not only for my friends and the people that I know, but for the people that I don’t know as well because I want to encourage everyone to speak their truth,” Raisman said in a statement. “I believe we all have the ability to make a difference and we are all worth the fight.”
