Billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson was on hand for the Rashi School annual dinner at the Seaport Boston Hotel Sunday along with more than 500 guests. The event for Rashi, a co-ed Jewish school in Dedham serving students in grades K-8, honored parents Michael and Dena Rashes and featured speeches and tributes on the evening’s theme, “Inspiring More.” Adelson attended the gala along with his wife, Dr. Miriam Adelson. Other gala-goers included: Barry Shrage, former president of Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston; Roberta and Irwin Chafetz, the event’s cochairs; Neil and Lisa Wallack; Rachel and Larry Chafetz; Michelle and Darren Black; Larry and Jesse Tobin; Rabbi Marc Baker, president and CEO of CJP; Jessica and Chuck Myers; Rabbi Elaine Zecher of Temple Israel; Rebecca Burack , Rashi Board of Trustees president, and her husband, Glenn; Adam W. Fischer, Rashi’s incoming head of school; and Bud Lichtenstein, interim head of school. The evening’s Tikkun Alum Award went to Zoe Jick, a 2002 Rashi graduate.
