Fans got a first look at “Little Fires Everywhere,” Hulu’s upcoming television series, on Tuesday when co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington shared a picture from set.
The image shows Washington, dressed in an all-black get-up, next to Witherspoon, who’s sporting a blue dress and red belt. In separate tweets, the two actress-producers introduced the characters. “Bringing it back to the ’90s,” Witherspoon wrote, a nod to the story’s time period.
Based on Cambridge author Celeste Ng’s “delectable and engrossing” (per critic Laura Collins-Hughes ) 2017 novel of the same name, “Little Fires Everywhere” follows the different but intersecting lives of Mia Warren (Washington) and Elena Richardson (Witherspoon). With the help of ABC Signature Studios, Washington’s Simpson Street and Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production companies are bringing the story to the small screen.
Along with Washington and Witherspoon, “Little Fires” will feature Rosemarie DeWitt, Jordan Elsass, Gavin Lewis, Jade Pettyjohn, Megan Stott, Liz Tigelaar, and Lexi Underwood.
The series is currently in production, and no official release date has been announced.
